Dr. Lingawi Graduated with honors from the College of Medicine, King Abdulaziz University (KAU) in 1991 and was appointed as a teaching assistant at KAU before his scholarship to the University of British Columbia (UBC) Vancouver Canada 1994.
He obtained the Canadian & American Boards of Radiology in 1998, and then enrolled into Neuroradiology Program at University of California, Irvin to specialize in magnetic resonance imaging and Neuroradiology 1998 - 2000.
In 2000 he was appointed as an Assistant Professor of Radiology at the College of Medicine KAU, then was promoted to Associate Professor in 2006, and then Chairman of the Radiology department at College of Medicine (2006 -2008) and the Chairman of Radiography department at College of Allied Medical Sciences (2006-2010).
Dr. Lingawi is the founder of the Radiological Society of Saudi Arabia (2004) and chaired its administration (2004 2006) in addition he co-founded the Pan Arab Association of Radiological Societies (PAARS) in the period 2006-2008
He was Associated Dean of Academic & Student Affairs at College of Medicine-Jeddah (2010 - 2013).
Giving lectures in King Saud bin Abdul Aziz University for Health Sciences, & a member of Majlis Al-Shura (2013 - 2016).
